Review:
My first thought about this book, I loved it!! It was a fast paced, well written novel that captured my attention from the very first chapter.

The story begins with April, a college student who is currently in a relationship with her boyfriend named Hunter. Yeah, you learn pretty quickly how much of a jerk he is. He is not a very likeable character.

Despite the fact that Hunter comes from a fairly wealthy family, April is struggling to survive. In order to attempt to make ends meet, she works at a local coffee shop to earn some money.

One day April discovers Hunter is cheating on her. She is devastated and has no idea how to comprehend everything she has just learned. Throughout these scenes, my heart felt for April. I felt as though I could feel her pain as I was reading.

When April was at her lowest, enter Jared. Jared is nothing like Hunter. He is supportive and encouraging, everything Hunter wasn't. With Jared by her side, April is able to discover who she is as a person again, and attempt to get back to the person she once was.

I loved Jared and April together. He doesn't push her or expect things from her. He is simply there because he loves her. He is willing to help her with all of her problems and emotions, because he cares deeply about her. This touched my heart as did April and Jared as a couple.

I highly enjoyed this novel, and can't wait to read more from Sheena Hutchinson in the future. Discovering April is definitely a must read novel.

Uncovering Officer Smith:

John Smith has been hurt before by a mysterious blonde that tumbles out of his cop car. Since she stomped on his heart, he's made sure he'll never feel that way again. He has developed two rules: Never more than one night and never a blonde.

The nerdy and conservative Becca Swanson has a plan for her life: college, law school, and rule the world. Nothing and no one will get in her way. That is, until she wakes up in a stranger's bedroom with no recollection of the night before.

This one tumultuous night caused these two to cross paths. Becca is everything John told himself he didn't need. Smart, sexy, and -- blonde. When she becomes the victim of one of his cases he finally can't deny the connection anymore. Worst of all, he's beginning to fall harder than ever before.

It throws his rules and her plans out the window. Could it have been fate? Or will it become the biggest mistake either of them has ever made?

Review:
Uncovering Officer Smith is another amazing read from Sheena Hutchinson!

This novel revolves around the characters of Becca and John. If you've read Discovering April, you will realize that John is the mysterious cop we all wanted to know more about.

The pacing of this novel really drew me in. It is fast paced, however, you still get the background knowledge and deep emotions that really make a story amazing.

The characters had me invested. With Becca being a college student who is focused on her studies, I felt as though I could really relate. I know exactly what she is going through and how often times it can be challenging. John contains so much depth. One minute I thought I knew him, and then the next, he surprised me and did something else that made me fall for him even harder.

Everything about this book had me constantly wanting to read more. Becca and John drew me into their story and always held my attention. I definitely recommend this novel and suggest purchasing it and reading it immediately.

Author Interview:

1) For those you don't know you, would you mind telling us a bit about yourself.
I am a self published author that dabbles in a little bit of romance, little bit of paranormal and for the past couple years I've been working on a post apocalyptic novel that always seems to be on the back of my mind. I'm a born and raised New Yorker so, I have an unnatural addiction to Starbucks coffee, I drive like a complete maniac and I have no patience.

2) Who or what inspired you to start writing?
What inspired my first book was a dream. I have these insanely vivid dreams in that limbo stage right before waking up where it actually feels as though I am in them. That's what inspired The Seraphina Series.

3) Who are a few of your favourite authors?

I hate to play favorites! But, authors that inspire me : JK Rowling, man that woman can write a book. George RR Martin- I need a notebook just to keep up with books, but this man writes legends not books -- and Heather Lyons whose Collectors Society books just give me the feels.

4) What was the hardest thing about writing Uncovering Officer Smith?

The hardest part is knowing how much is too much. I wanted to depict how deep heart break can make a girl fall, but I find it hard to know when its getting repetitive and what is taboo to write about.

5) Which actor/actress would you like to see playing the lead character in Discovering April?

I don't have an actress I have a model, -- I picture Gigi Hadid as my April. I have no idea why, I think its the eyes.

6) What is your favourite quote from the novel Discovering April or Uncovering Officer Smith?
Oh, good question... hmm... I'd have to say this line from Officer Smith: "You can hide behind all those books Becca Swanson, but I see you. I've always seen you."

7) Where do you see yourself ten years in the future?

Looking around my huge Beauty and the Beast style Library pumping out my next novel on my computer.

8) What is your upcoming novel going to be about?

I'm finally re-releasing Seraphina's Awakening! I'm super excited to get it back out there after sprucing it up and getting all new covers. It's about a young woman who has these crazy dreams that make her feel like there's more to life. (Sound familiar, hehe) Well, as it turns out .. she might be right.

9) Is there anything else you would like to add that I haven’t included?
I love writing about overcoming heartbreak and self doubt. I also adore hearing how my books have touched people in some way, shape or form. I love connecting with fans on social media, receiving fan mail and attending Author Events where I can actually meet people and talk books. So, feel free to tweet me, Facebook me or if there is an event anyone wants me to attend contact me through my website and I'll be sure to try and make it! (www.SheenaHutchinson.com
