Fierce by Tracy Lorraine has quickly become my favourite read in the Rosewood High Series!
Chelsea Fierce and Shane Dunn are two characters who are polar opposites, and yet, have this undeniable connection that bind them together forever. Chelsea, the queen, who everyone thinks has everything, and Shane, the nice, shy and quiet guy. No one would predict that these two would get together, and yet, they quickly became my favourite couple to root for.
In the past novels, I did not like Chelsea. She was the mean girl, and I didn't know if Tracy would be able to redeem her. Well, I was wrong. Tracy not only redeemed her, but had my heart breaking for her in the process. Chelsea has been through so much in her life, and dealt with so much from her past, that it is no wonder she seeks attention and acted the way she did. She simply wanted to feel loved and wanted.
Enter Shane. The one guy that throughout this entire series that I rooted for constantly. He is not only the nice guy, but he is Chelsea's saviour. He picked her up, and healed her in the process. Don't get me wrong, they have their issues together that they must overcome, as well as personal issues that Shane is dealing with; however, that never stands in these characters way. They fight back. They take control of their lives, especially now, with what they are dealing with together.
These two know that they shouldn't be together - rather, they should stay far away from one another, and yet, they care so deeply about the other on a personal level, that they are always drawn back together no matter how hard they try to resist. Not only are they connected on a personal and an emotional level, they also have a very strong physical connection, which you see shown in many steamy scenes.
My heart broke for these characters, then was healed, and put back together. Fierce is a powerful novel about redemption, forgiveness, and the power to move forward, while accepting who you are in the process.
